Ready, Set, Launch

Okay — now that we have our goals for the first 30 days, let’s talk about how we’re going to reach them. First off: go grab your calendar or planner so we can map this out!

I highly recommend you truly LAUNCH your business. Let’s not be quiet about it or secretive about it. Let’s make a splash! And, no – this does not involve posting canned Facebook messages as your status update with 79 emojis; nor does it include obnoxious spamming by adding your poor friends to a VIP group without their permission. In fact, we’re going to do completely the opposite. Let’s launch gracefully. Let’s be classy about it. Trust me, your pals will appreciate you and your new business SO much more. And, you’ll begin building a customer base that that will soon become repeat customers!

Watch this short video to learn:

  • What to do and NOT to do when launching your biz
  • The art of personally inviting guests to a party
  • When to pencil in your launch party dates
  • Why hostess coaching will become your best friend

This training is jam-packed with the essentials you need to ensure your business thrives and is sustainable from the very start.

Becky’s Bonus Tip: Think outside the box when inviting guests to your party and reach outside your immediate circle of friends. Grandparents are some of my best customers!

Your To-Do List:

  • Watch this short, 5-minute welcome video to learn how to launch gracefully.
  • Leave a comment with the dates you’re set to launch your business.
  • Make a list of guests you’d like to invite.
  • Begin reaching out and inviting your guests.
  • Download the 30 Day Launch Workbook.

I just scheduled my first two FB launch parties for July 8th and July 11th. The training material said it would be best to schedule two launch parties so my guests could have a second option if they can’t make it, but I LOVE your idea of having parties for specific groups of people. Thanks for your videos, you break down the training material well and make this feel so much more personal and possible:)

I LOVE getting personalized snail mail! What are you opinions on developing a postcard online and mailing invites to friends/family each with a personal touch? Too much? Not necessary? I was thinking the postcard could have my business page/facebook page, etc. on it. Maybe a good piece to add to the fridge? hmmmm…..

My party I was hosting turned into my launch party half way through so it was kind of a bust since I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing so needless to say I was really encouraged when you said to have a series of launch parties!

We are looking at March 14, may need to think about pushing it back. Just want enough time to get everything set up right and not with half way effort. We will see, I’m really putting in some good effort this weekend to get my training done.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of doing a series of smaller group parties! As I am going through my contacts and FB friends I can see how I could group everyone. I also love the idea of inviting everyone on a personal level. I have been added to those VIP FB groups that you were talking about and I do get annoyed cause it’s products I have never bought and don’t have interest in. Thanks Becky for these wonderful videos and this awesome training website!!!

My first launch party was 1 February and my 2nd launch party was 7 February. The first one did better in sales than the first, but between the two I was able to book 4 parties and sell almost $700. I did my first booked party on the 8th and while sales were low, I was able to book 3 more parties and one link. My 2nd hosted party is on Tuesday 13 February and I am really excited about it! Both of my hosts have been fantastic and I’ve had a lot of fun planning/inviting/coaching and making my OWN graphics for some of the posts!

I’m buying my kit on Sunday so my plan is to have my facebook launch party on Sunday, January 28th. I also have a good lead on a home party as well for the “grandparent” group because the hostess is concerned about the technology aspect.

You’ll be great. Have fun with the home party! Make sure to connect with each customer, provide recommendations and ask each customer if they’d like to host for free and half off deals!

I had my Launch Party about 2 weeks ago, but I’m planning on having a few more. Should I reinvite those who rsvp’d but did not go?

    Reply
    • Becky

Yes! That’s a great idea! You can just send a friendly message like — “I know how busy life gets so no worries you couldn’t make the book party! I’m hosting two more — one on Tuesday and another on Sunday… would one of those dates work better for ya? I don’t want you to miss out on all the fun!”

I just had a party a couple of weeks ago and have decided to join the Usborne team but I already invited everybody I could think of to that party. I want to start in February but I would feel odd inviting a) people who just bought books from my party a couple months before b) people who were interested but didn’t find anything to purchase or c) people who “ignored” my initial invite. What do you suggest?

    Reply
    • Becky

Hi Laura, I highly encourage consultants to form a “VIP Group” on Facebook! (See: https://youtu.be/2xZNkh9R7Ag) It’s a great way to engage with and then encourage those same friends who came to your party to consider hosting parties of their own without being salesy or pushy!

Hey Becky! If we do a series of launch parties, should we still think of having about 25 guests at each party?

    Reply

25 is a GREAT goal but a smaller group is fine! The key is having enough people who want to participate to create energy and fun interaction!

I just received my kit and have been chatting with my Team Leader! I’m looking into early September for my first launch ~ I really want to have a home party first and then offer the FB a few days later for additional RSVPs or those who couldn’t attend the Home party! Although I do not have a lot of space in my home, I have a lovely yard/patio which I plan to set up with books and snacks!

My launch party was last night. I have 23 days left in my 1st 30 days. I messaged 75 people. Invited 50 of them. I had 22 people rsvp. And I had around 12 people actively participate in the live party. I had planned on doing a 2nd launch next week, however, I got 4 maybe 5 bookings from my launch. I am now faced with getting them all in my schedule. Good problem to have but took me by surprise!

      Reply
      • Erika Hall

I was kind of disappointed in the RSVP numbers. I remember feeling that disappointment when I hosted too. I thought sharing how many people don’t follow through may make someone else feel less defeated because I am seeing it is pretty normal.

Hi Becky! I’m “re-launching” on April 28th! It is NOT going to be your typical launch party as I’m trying something different by reaching outside my circle of friends and reaching INSIDE my husband’s circle of friends. 🙂 We are doing a Battle of the Host/Hostess Event for my re-launch. Hubby vs. Myself… to see who will be crowned the best host/hostess. My hubby can be pretty competitive when it comes to something like this, so I’m hoping that it will help me get some more bookings.
